James 1:2

2 My brethren, count it all joy when ye fall into divers temptations;

The modern translations render the word “temptations” as “trials” because the modern translators think that trials come from God and temptations from Satan so this fall causing joy has to be coming from God. Therefore, it must be rendered “trials,” not “temptations.”

The truth is that no trials OR temptations come from God. They all come from Satan. God allows them but Satan is always the direct cause. We fall into these. This “fall” is caused by Satan, not God. We count it all joy because it is a fall into humility that we need to experience. And we know God uses what Satan causes (Rom 8:28) to sift, purge and sanctify us out from under the influence of our old sin nature and into that newness of life derived from the divine nature. Rom 6:3-4; Luke 22:31-32.
